We have a customer that has all of their machines using VMWare SVGA 3D graphics driver. Their machines don’t seem to be able to run the Unity Web Player at all, and I am suspecting that the issue is the driver. It isn’t clear if the driver only supports DirectX 8.1 or 9.0.
Anyone have any luck running the Unity Web Player on a machine with the SVGA 3D driver?
Also… I think that the SVGA II driver -does- support DirectX9 (?) anyone have any luck/experience with this driver?
Thanks!

Update: the dxdiag tool solves this problem by reporting the version of DirectX supported (in the customer’s case DirectX 11) So… I’m off to find other reasons why the Web Player won’t work
Thanks! A quick look and…
Graphics Memory available: 252 MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 64 MB
System video memory: 0 MB
Shared system memory: 188MB
Probably a bit on the low side. I did a quick search and didn’t find “minimum memory requirements” anywhere, but I’ll keep looking and update this post with what I find. In the mean time, if anyone has these at their fingertips… that would save me some searching.
thanks!
Update: Just tested on an ancient WinXP, P4, Intel Extreme Graphics 2 (no vid card) with 96MB of memory and it works fine. (not the same… but it is about as minimal a config I can get without trying to set up a VMWare setup myself)
Running into the same issue here, So far I haven’t gotten the normal web player to work, nor the standalone player with my app, but the flash apps on the Flash in a Flash contest appear to work fine. Have you had any luck in the meantime? Just starting to dig in to finding an answer here,
