Does anyone have any good examples or suggestions for a quick way to get people new to VR to understand a shooting mechanic? We are using the HTC Vive and will be giving a demo of a project to a bunch of people who have probably never used VR before. The gun has a limited range, a small random scatter, uses raycasts, and has a 30 round clip that the user fires then must wait a small amount of time before being able to shoot again (simulating reloading). What we’ve seen is that new users tend to not understand how to aim down the sights of the gun. So the first part of a 4 part data gathering experiment tends to be useless data because people don’t learn how to manage aiming, range and the reload mechanic properly on their first pass. We’re looking to add a quick training protocol to get them used to it without ending up with too much additional time spent on each person because we’re trying to get as many people through our demo as possible.
Thanks in advance for the help
