i am aware of roms vue importer but don’t know how to use it. so if that is the solution please tell me how to implement it in unity 2.6 and vue 8xstream.

i have tried (forgot name) solution as well.
[export hieghtfield in png at double res, take to photoshop, i then image size it to half then save as raw. import in unity.
but i still get this.
Are you using 16-bit greyscale in Photoshop? You would expect a stepping effect like this if you didn’t have enough lightness levels available.
i want to take the time to thank ROM for his personal assistance in helping me with this problem.
i have actually decided to keep the problem intact as i have discovered it seems to help immensly in creating mountain paths which is very hard to do by hand, so i am now using the smooth tool to smooth the parts i do not want "plateaued and using the paintbrush to paint nice mountain paths. it is turning out rather nice.
