Waht happened to nested prefab editing?

What happened to nested prefab editing? I used to be able to edit nested prefabs individually, inside the context of a parent prefab. For instance, I could have changes in prefab “A”, which sits as part of a prefab “B”, and decide whether or not the changes will be applied to all instances of prefab “A”, or only on those that are on prefab “B”.
Why is this no longer an option? It also appears impossible to revert overrides to nested prefabs as well. For instance, if I made edits to the prefab itself, and want them to apply to a prefab instance that is nested inside another prefab, I can’t anymore.
It also makes it virtually impossible to make changes to the hierarchy of nested prefabs, because you must edit them in the prefab edit menu, which as I said before - currently does not reflect changes made there to any nested prefab instances. I also can no longer unpack the prefab as I could earlier, because its a nested prefab and the right click context menu offers different actions (namely - ‘open’, or ‘asset’)

Is this by design? Why, what happened? I have a main scene prefab but it’s children are prefab that appear in other places as well, this makes the nested prefab meaningless.

Is there anyway to control this? Or must I revert back to a 2021 editor version?

Thanks

Not sure it was a thing in 2021. We’re still with it and the prefab workflow is horendous, with the override UI becoming clearly unusable for nested prefabs.

Are you talking in the main scene or in the prefab scene ?
