My latest iPad release got submitted June 02, 2010 10:02. It’s now 1800 my time, June 4. That’s essentially three business days and still Waiting For Review. That wouldn’t have bothered me if not for the TOS hoopla, but I gotta admit I’m freaking out a little bit right now. I had a iPhone release go three days in Waiting For Review (got approved no prob) so it’s not like there’s no precedent from personal experience, but damn. I’m antsy.
Meh, hopefully I’m just being paranoid. Yeah, that’s probably it. I hope. Oi vay.
at the time review timeframes are 5++ days since the approval of the ipad became available, so nothing to be nervous about yet
there won’t be any waiting time if they decide to ban unity, it will likely be auto detected and you will fly out of “in review” faster than you got in I would assume
I’m getting my first game ready for review this weekend, hope to submit it by sunday night. I’m in your boat as well. I feel like it should be alright, but just nervous that I might have wasted the last 3 months of my free time.
I submitted an iPad app 5 days ago. Within the first few minutes of submission it went from Waiting for Review to In review. Five days later and still in review.
I think some people on this thread are writing about new games (1.0’s) while others are writing about updates to existing games (1.1’s) – and there is a difference in the review process between those two.
I found that initial releases go into review quickly but stay in review for several days, while updates take much longer to go into review but once there they fly through to approval (or rejection) very quickly.
Apple also shows a difference between the two cases on the dev site (as I write this, the site reads: 86% of new apps are reviewed within 7 days and 98% of updates are reviewed within 7 days).
Kind of a bummer, personally, as I just discovered a performance problem in one of my games on older devices that I remedied in an update (word to the wise: older devices really hate particle effects, too many FixedUpdate calls!), but meanwhile the update is waiting for review and I can’t get the patch out. I’m sure to attract some one-star ratings while I wait, I think.
