I have installed Unity on a TFS build server for the only purpose of building releases automatically. I was able to install 4.0.1f2, and activating the license. I then stopped Unity Editor, and never started it again.
Now - a few days later, I want to move to another TFS build server. Luckily it should be easy to return the license, and reuse it on the new installation.
But now the Unity Editor crash immediately when I try to start it. So I am not able to manage the license.
Will the license be returned if I uninstall the Unity software, or is there any other way I can return the license?
I am not familiar with Unity, and my only involvement is to build the projects which are made elsewhere.
In prior versions of unity (3.5 an back) you did just contact the support via email with the subject license or something like that and you have to name the license number and the name of the machine (like network name) , so they un-authorize the machine . That take’s normally like one day.
I guess even with the newer versions this should work.
And no if you uninstall the unity version the license does not get returned.
Try holding down the “Alt” key immediately after you start Unity. That starts Unity’s Project Wizard then tell it to start a new project. If that still doesn’t open, try to uninstall and reinstall it. Probably different on a Mac…
