want to start making my own game.

hello everyone im super new to making games and i was wondering. what do i need to start making one, plus what steps do i need to start coming up with a storyline, characters etc… i wanna make this badass. i already have a title for it . thank you have a nice day

STOP.

Now take your amazing first game (probably an MMO) and do the following:

  • Imagine it as a retro 2D game with low res graphics a tiny pallette of colours and chiptune sounds/music.
  • Reduce the game mechanics to one single thing e.g. jumping/shooting.
  • Reduce the levels to one.
  • Reduce the enemies to one.

Now make the first level of this game, should be easy right!

Once you have completed this you can start building it up to your dream game.
