Code? WASD works just fine here…
Just any demo in webplayer from the net - letter keys not working 8(
Ok, URL?
I tried this one (our new 3rd person shooter live-demo) and my WASD keys work just fine.
MBP, OS X 10.5.8, Safari 4.0.4, Unity Web Player 2.6.1f3
You can check your web player version here.
The same for me - WASD no reaction. Arrow keys, mouse, ctrl working OK.
IMAC, OSX 10.6.2, Safari 4.0.4, Web Player 2.6.1 f3
So is Snow Leopard the case?
I downloaded the project itself - WASD not working even inside Unity development editor.
I checked already - regular number keys working also well. Only letter keys no react. 8( in all cases.
Hu …never tested the Webpart on my Mac and the outcome is not too great …
Unity Plugin version is 2.6.1f3
Firefox Version 3.6
Safari 4.0.4
Both tested OS Versions with latest Apple Updates applied and pretty much vanilla system software (=not much installed)…
MacMini(late 2009) OSX 10.6.2 →
Firefox crashes when loading a webdemo, Safari starts do load and drops back to the plugin-bluebox after half a second.
Same MacMini booted into OSX 10.5.8 (Startup disk switch, but same physical harddrive )
runs unity web demos perfectly, WASD keys too…
So Snow Leo is still a Red Flag for Unity ?
Please can both of you file bug reports for these issues. No harm done if there’s another explanation
I am having the same problem when using the FPS prefab, and the problem is apparently of fairly recent origin. When I first bought Unity, early in the version 2 cycle, the problem with the WASD keys not working did not exist. When I used the editor, or compiled a game, the WASD keys worked fine on my Mac
I admit I haven’t used Unity in a while, so I can’t pin down when the problem started, but in past few days I opened Unity to work on some level tests. I started out using the last version of 2.5, and the WASD keys did not work, only the arrow keys. I updated to 2.6.1 hoping for a change, but the WASD keys still produced no input.
This problem does not extend to web apps, or compiled apps built in earlier versions of Unity, since demo apps like The Island still work properly on my machine.
I am using a Mac Pro, 2 x 2.66 dual-core Xeon, 10 gigs of RAM, running system version 10.5.8.
Have there been any further developments on this problem? I am considering purchasing the version 3 pre-release upgrade right now, but would like to know this problem is resolved, or is going to be resolved soon.
Thanks,
Clyde
Found the answer, at least functionally, here:
http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=36959&highlight=wasd+keys+working
I guess something in a package I had loaded was causing it. A fresh project with only the standard assets loaded works fine.
