water 4 bug see through

Hi

Check the pic:

This is water 4. It looks fine when I’m far from it but when I get close, it seems as if half the waves go transparent and they dissapear from screen. The white is the snow terrain under it, the other ‘trails’ is the water. It should all be water.

Any idea why this happen?

Are you sure to have reasonable sizes and UV repetitions so you aren’t using a single water block that spawns ‘far to infinite’ into the depth?

If things ‘repeat infinitely’ thats a major problem on mobile which are far less forgiving on theoretically invalid UV repetitions and it requires the usage of multiple waterblocks to break down the UV repetitions.

Also check the general world scale, the more limited precision on mobile will prevent ‘close together near parallel’ planes from working nicely when alpha is involved and if the world size is too high or the camera near - far clip planes are bad (I would recommend to keep the camera far / camera near ratio in the range or even below the default setup of 1000 / 0.3 => 30k)

erm… how do i check the UVs ? This is the standard water 4 advanced from Unity. I did scale the component x 37 on each side to make it large, but I don’t see an option anywhere to change its UVs

actually, i just set it back to scale of 1 to double check, and it still has this issue on android.
