Water FX/Physics

How would I go about creating a game like Koi Pond ( http://itunes.apple.com/app/koi-pond/id286420263?mt=8 ) where by a touch or other event you can create a water ripple effect?

And I need it to work on the iPhone.

So someone told me the only way to get a Koi-pond water effect with ripples would be to use objective-c and opengles because unity iphone doesn’t support what i’m trying to accomplish. Is that true?
