Below is the reflection of a cone in Unity’s water - as you can see it is the wrong way round. Is this something that I have missed in setting up the water?
Thanks,
Richard.

I presume this is beta 1 right?
Will be fixed before Unity 1.1
Yes 1143 - shall I file a report?
Richard.
No. We are already working on it, as part of the render texture update.
We had to flip all render textures in the sake of consistency with normal textures.
OK - np.
thanks,
Richard.
I should add - the water is really beautiful - Fresnel and all!

Havent tested water yet in Unity and Im not by my computer, but a small question popped up
If an object, like a car or whatever, drove thru the water, will it make splashy effects? Or am I having stupid newbie thoughts?
The water is just a texture - no geometry actually moves. To get splashes and the like you would normally use particles or similar.
Richard.
Ah I see  Feel quite stupid
Well well, Im off from work now, gonna spend my entire night playing with Unity
What should I do with my Render To Texture effects? Currently I’m just flipping the object that has the render texture on it upsidedown. . .
-Jon
With Unity 1.1b2 render textures are not flipped anymore. (We still need to unflip the water correctly)
My standard daylight water has gotten modified somehow (it is now all black). How can I revert to the as-shipped definition for it?

Assets → Import Package
Select the Pro Standard Assets package or Standard Assets package if you have an indie version.
Thanks… I tried that, but it gave the system “bonk” sound. Played around a bit more and tried it again, and it worked.
Though it looks better than before, the water does not look really nice for me… I notice some reflectivity, but no motion (if that is a feature of the water at this point) and certainly no reflective qualities like those in the screenshot shown above. The water looks basically like a navy blue sheet.
Is this due to my lowly TiBook’s graphics capabilities, or should I flip some switches?

I presume you are using the indie version of unity.
The indie version doesn’t feature render to texture which is necessary for reflection effects.
The pro version has full reflective water.
Gotcha. That’s worth money, I’d say.
I’m sure I’ll upgrade eventually.

I understand that the ability to create reflected textures (i.e. water effects) are only in the Pro version of Unity. But I wonder, will the water effect actually ripple, is it animated? :?:
Of course
Thanks. Is there a demo (or video) of this that I can download and actually see?
The water shader in unity is a slightly enhanced version of the one used in gooball.
You can see the water in this movie:

or download gooball and play one of the ancient montezuma levels.
