Water set-up

Hi, I need to make some water in my level, but I don’t wanna use the round meesh that unity provides, so I made my own mesh. Now, the problem is that when I try to set it up it messes up. See attached image.
It is like the UVs get streched or something, but I read that it doesn’t require UVs. What am I doing wrong here?

Water expects the Y axis to be “up”. Right now it looks like your mesh has Y axis going to the side (green arrow).
