waterfall

I am trying to learn how to do a successful waterfall, but when I drag the Daylight Water (pro) material onto the mesh, it’s transparent through to the skybox. It is not transparent to the terrain, and does not reflect the terrain. It only seems to reflect the adjacent water plane, up to where that plane hits the terrain (see very bottom of the waterfall)
What am I missing?

The Daylight Water (pro) uses a special projection matrix to capture the surrounding environment into a render texture that can be used as the the reflection. This does not work on arbitrarily shaped surfaces (like a waterfall). You’d be much better off using a cubemap of the surrounding environment and using a shader similar to the one used in this example:

okay, I had started down that path originally, but hit some bumps, so I tried this. I’ll give it another go.

Thank you.
