It’s absurd to have to scroll past screens of pinned topics just to get to any community posts. Especially since most of the pinned topics are of very minimal scope and were completely irrelevant to me the first time I saw them, let alone the 20th time. Surely there’s a way to not have them cluttering up the forum?
I agree, they should really have their own section in the sidebar. No one goes to this forum to read about what Unity is doing, they are hear to ask questions and help each other.
Unity PR should not be top priority in a public developer forum.
Unity might not agree with your assessment of the top priority ;-). But even so, many of these items don’t even serve that purpose, it seems like a very random selection of topics.
Note that you can unpin them locally by clicking the icon.
Awesome. Not as awesome as unity reconsidering all that pinned junk, but I’m not holding my breath on that.
Which icon are you referring to? I’ve tried to unpin a topic by clicking on the pin icon (the red one) before the topic title, but it does not work; nothing has changed.
Yes, that used to work but they’ve recently broke it. I’ve made them aware of the issue, so hopefully it’ll work again soon.
In the meantime you have to enter a thread and unpin it there.
if only they would just attack the problem at it’s root and unpin all the junk (or really, just remove all the pins, as none of it’s all that special).
