Web player choking in Firefox

Hi.

I’ve played with some Unity web content, including the island demo, Flashbang’s Velociraptor Safari, and some games on Kongregate.

All of those games regularly “choke up” when running in Mozilla 3.5.6 (and 3.5.5) on 64bit Win7. What I mean by that is the game runs smoothly for periods of 10 to 30 second between which there are short (half a sec) freeze ups of video output - possibly audio as well, but I have no way to check that right now.

I’ve checked all that content in IE8 and Iron 3 (which is Chrome stripped of all the google’s spyware) and there are no choke ups in those.

So, that’s the problem - now the question: is it a common occurence or just an isolated case?
If it’s common, then it’s probably driving away some FF users from Unity.

never had a problem with my firefox installation and I’m on win7 64 and before on vista64

but there are common problems with firefox itself as it is not managing the resources efficiently in any way (its actually in the current generation the by far worst one available), not considering how crappy it handles multiple tabs from the threading usabe point of view. Addons can make it even worse

I’m seeing similar behavior for firefox 3.5.5 and 3.5.6 on Mac OSX. Safari runs my app totally smooth, but FF chokes every few seconds dropping numerous frames :frowning:
