web player crash on browser

Hi,

I have tried to search for solutions to this problem and haven’t got very far.

I am trying to use the Unity web player on Windows Internet explorer and FireFox, however everytime I open for example live unity demos from the main unity site my browser crashes. I have tried the usual fixes like uninstalling and renstalling the plugin but still no joy.

Please someone help me

Is it just the webplayers on the Unity site that cause problems or do none of them work?

You might also want to make sure that you’ve installed the latest graphics drivers for your video card. Unity shouldn’t crash if this is the case, but still worth checking.

I’ve reported a crash-on-unload webplayer bug a few times to Unity (#344329). It happens on Firefox and Chrome browsers alike, sometimes even on IE, and happens on the official demo too. Their response a month ago was:

Incidentally, for obvious reasons, it’s a pretty crippling bug to us - we can’t exactly ship a game that crashes people’s browsers. We are anxiously awaiting the fix, and hope that in the future, Unity Technologies will consider releasing fixes more frequently than at eight months’ interval.
