Hello,
I’m currently studying Game Art Design at the Seattle Art Institute, and as I close in on graduation I’m compiling some of my best work into a web portfolio. I’ve decided to show just a few of my projects - the ones which show both variety of skill and quality of work. Enjoy!
@WinningGuy That’s a good point; I’m still deciding myself what sort of job I’d like. I really enjoy the indie scene much more than the big industry, so ideally I’m shooting for a much smaller company which needs multitalented individuals rather than specialized. However, I think I still may follow your advice and pick some sort of label, if for nothing else but to simplify a potential employer’s thought-process. I don’t want to leave it ambiguous what I’m looking for. But what am I? That’s a deeper personal question which I can’t yet answer. I still have another 9 months before graduation, so I’m not flailing yet. Thanks for the criticism
@WinningGuy Thanks for the input! That is sort of the direction I’m going in, although over the next year I’m going to be putting much more of a focus on the art side of things. At this point the website is more of an exercise to prepare me for graduation, where I’ll be updating my website with new portfolio material. I’m going to hold off at this point on defining my specific intentions - who knows where this stuff will take me!
Also, I’ve added a demo reel to the website, and updated the runtime demonstrations, check it out and let me know what you think
I’m curious of your guys’ thoughts on the music and presentation of the demo reel. Do you find the music grating, or does it fit with the content? I find that some demo reels can fail miserably purely from song that is chosen, but it’s hard for me to judge because I enjoy the song.
