Why doesn’t some font such as Webdings or Symbol work?
When I use these fonts for GUIText, the text are not the symbols shown inside these fonts, but rather just the regular letters.
I have the same problem trying to get Symbol.ttf to work in Unity 4.0, both for GUIText and Text3D. Everything works in Unity 3.4.
I need Greek symbols for engineering applications, so if someone can provide a few hints or a link to a tutorial on how to get this working in Unity 4, that would be much appreciated.
I was able to get Greek symbols working by using a Greek font (http://www.bibleworks.com/downloads/bwfonts.zip) instead of Symbol.ttf. I downloaded a variety of fonts for testing. Some work and some don’t. If anyone else has this problem, I would suggest searching the internet for a similar font that works.
I have the same problem with Webdings.ttf. It displays ok in Unity3 and displays as regular letters in Unity4. Anyone found a solution ? Thanks !
