WebGL Best practices

I’m going to ask a really broad question here : what are the best practices to make a beautiful game in WebGL ?

Here is a bit of details. We’re making a game where the player starts with an empty scene (nothing but UI) and can build, let say, a house. He can create as many wall as he wants, add windows, doors, furniture etc.

In that scenario, we’re finding it hard to get something beautiful because :
We can’t bake lightmaps (nothing is static)
We can’t use reflection probe (where would they be ? the player can create / move eveything)
Gamma space so no HDR

Does anyone have advices ?

You could prebake externally in 3D and have that ao baked into the albedo/diffuse. I know this isnt a popular process but for small detail shading as long as the light is similar to the directional light in Unity it will be ‘close’ enough and look a lot better than no ao at all.

you can have realtime reflection probes (or manually call the bake, or just create your own cubemaps to use for reflections), not sure if those are supported in webgl though.
