Hi, @soumyadip-k31
Thanks for joining the discussion, I agree it’s an exciting topic.
For me, it’s still an untested concept, but it seems like there could be interesting possibilities to explore.
I’m not sure going full time and achieving a good return on investment is a realisation. I’ve obviously been looking at this topic for a while, and it’s very difficult to get anyone to talk about sales figures / potential in this area. I had at first considered facebook, but I’ve not heard anything good about the platform, so I then looked at online only. Revenue shares vary across the sites, but may be offset by large customer visits / plays, for example:
Poki | Monthly Visits | 54.76 Million
CrazyGames | Monthly Visits | 27.96 Million
Y8 Games | Monthly Visits | 19.38 Million
GameDistribution | Monthly Visits | 9.56 Million
GamePix | Monthly Visits | 3.15 Million
GameMonetize | Monthly Visits | 1.15 Million
Revenue shares can be slightly higher, depending on what your willing to do with your game titles, for instance, giving 1 site ‘exclusivity’ for an initial period of time, or implementing features of a sites own SDK can also result in higher revenues, for instance, implementing a sites online save feature or multiplayer component.
An interesting YouTube channel, has 2 videos on the process involved in getting your game from Unity to either GameMonetize or GameDistribution:
and apparent proof of earnings from 1 month:
I had a look on the site, and he has only 1 apparent game that I could see. If this is the case, then yes, maybe a decent potential to make money, but you’re going to have to have at least 10, 20 or 30 games up and running to be making decent money.
Anyway, hope this helps a little.
Regards.
