I struggle to get my assets & scenes to look good using Gamma color space. Whilst I’m sure I can do better with my assets, switching to Linear color space helps a lot. Will webGL eventually support Linear color space? Do people here use any workarounds currently?
Thanks,
T
I asked a few weeks ago, the answer was along the lines of ‘Maybe in 5.5, but probably not.’ – it depends on WebGL2 being released (which hasn’t happened in the major browsers yet)
For what it is worth though, you can get the Linear “look” in Gamma by washing out your midtones – use colour grading curves, and make them a ‘S’ curve (e.g. flat in the middle)
Thanks AFrisby, I noticed color correction certainly seemed to help add punch to scenes, I backed off using it due to performance though.
Generally, colour correction using a LUT should be very fast. It’s one of the cheapest effects you can implement. If it gives you the look you need - then I’d say run with it.

Ah nice, I have the Amplify Color asset store addon, perhaps I will revisit this & try profiling with it
