What player version do you have on your machine? 4.6.4f1 is presumably the plugin version. When this plugin runs for the first time, it looks at the version embedded into the unity content, and if there is not a player for that version installed on the machine will attempt to download it from Unity servers. There is no player on our servers for 4.6.0p1 (which is why the patch release comments I wrote back in last May say that the patch release isn’t compatible with web players.) If you have a 4.6.4f1 player on your machine then I would expect it to work with the 4.6.0p1 release, but I have never tried this. So, take a look at:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Unity\WebPlayer\player
or
c:\Users{you}\AppData\Local\Unity\WebPlayer\player
and see what player versions you have. Look inside any folders for a info.plist. That will tell you the version number.
Hi Graham,
thanks for your quick reply… inside your mentioned path, there aren’t any files, except an uninstall file, see my attached pic, no other files anywhere… I have the 4.6.4f1 installed and it works only on Firefox not in IE11… Can you give me please the link where I can see which Browser(incl. Versions) are supported for the Unity3d Versions? I can’t find any info which Browsers are supported in which version versus Unity3d Versions and their exports for the webplayer… Also I don’t understand the difference between player version and plugin version, never heard of this?
Hmm, what about inside LocalLow? (I’m on a Mac at the moment, and forget the exact file location. There should be folders called loader (which contains the plugin), mono, and player, which are the runtime components that the plugin fetches and uses.
All browsers are supported, well, at least IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome, 360.
