I just submitted a bug report but I would like a quick feedback :
The webplayer seem to not autoupdate correctly (in IE and Firefox on Windows) when trying U3 content on a system which previously have 2.6 player.
I can see the download of the new version the first time I launch a U3 content but then I have many crashes and when I look the plugin information it tells it’s again in 2.6. If I manualy install the unity 3 webPlayer, I get 3.0 in the plugin info and the crashes disapear …
It is a known bug ? Do you plan a new release who fix that ?
It is possible to get the unity version from the main page and then redirect to the download page if its not a U3 webplayer ? (without using the autoupdater)
This is a known bug and certainly high priority. However, it is always OK to send in a bug report (menu: Help > Report A Problem). Your case may supply extra information that helps in tracking down the problem.
Yes, I’am in contact with support for this.
My problem is finally very simple but very annoying:
Video streaming doesn’t work anymore on IE with active X 2.6 and player 3 combinaison : If I try to change the strem before it completly dowloded it crash
The only way until bug is resolved is to completely reinstall the webplayer in order to have Active X v3 too
So I wait news from support and a update in the player for this …
One solution for me, because I know this sort of things can take times, is to find a way to detect ActiveX version before running the player (in the html page) and I really don’t know how to do this ! Any Idea ?
I have the same issue updating from 3.1 to 3.2 - but assume fixed
Edit: Think what does cause an issue is if you have a 3.1 unity3d object that loads a 3.2 unity3d object!!
