webplayer browser speed: stats

I have been looking at a few games that run in the web player on different browsers. Here is the average speed (fps) in each browser:
Chrome:30.16
Internet explorer:28.97
Firefox:27.45

For some reason all of them loaded them up in chrome much faster than IE or FF. I would be interested to know if anyone can suggest why this is. I repeated the tests many times and each time the three browsers came in that order. None of the tests were performed in fullscreen.

Please vote in the poll, make sure you have the latest version of your browser and unity before performing the test.

The poll is meant to say ‘which of the browsers run unity the best on your computer’. I can’t work out how to edit the options of the poll.

Safari is best on mine.

Chrome creates distinct processes for each window, which results in a shorter reaction time but a much higher memory footprint especially than internet explorer
