WebPlayer Installer via https?

We have a Facebook app that uses Unity. As of Oct. 1st, Facebook is requiring a secure canvas page for all apps. We’ve addressed most of the issues we’ve found with the game, but there’s one remaining problem. In IE9 the non-secure content isn’t shown by default. The only thing left in our game that isn’t secure, however, is the link to the web player installer. So, when anybody logs in to our game and doesn’t allow the non-secure content, they never see the game, just the “Install Web Player” button which can’t even be clicked on, even if they have already installed the web player. I have a feeling this is going to cost us a lot of users and some ill will.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround (like perhaps an https:// vesrion of the web player installer URL)?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Forrest

Hi, just wondering if you ever found a solution to this, as I am experiencing the same problem.

Same problem here. I found a messy solution here http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/132632-Webplayer-SSL-https and am asking for better one at answers http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/283562
