So currently i’m getting pretty close to delivering a production build of my work in progress Web game “Apocalypse City: Last Stand” to a publisher. But they want to support both Web Player and WebGL. Which is fine for me because I don’t see WebGL loading on the lower end hardware that i’m expecting to encounter from my target market. So a Web Player version will still be good for that in the meantime.
Although oddly enough i’m seeing really strange issues with Web Player. My WebGL build is currently perfect for the most part, no critical issues that would stop gameplay. While my Web Player Builds are showing Console Errors of “Null References”. How could this be? In Unity Editor I don’t see any errors to fix, and WebGL is working perfectly fine with no errors or crashes… so what gives?
Why is Web Player generating “Null Refernces” Console Errors when my WebGL and Unity Editor versions of the Game run perfectly fine clear of any errors or crashes? I’ve looked up the NullReference in the Web Player Logs, but they don’t make any sense because when I review my project in the editor I don’t see a problem. With no Console Errors in Unity Editor I have no way to fix the issue for Web Player Build… ![]()
I’ve been using Unity 5.1.2, but now i’m going to try 5.1.3 since i’ve sort of exhausted my ideas of what the problem could be. Any thoughts on this issue? Web Player log attached.
