Weird haptic event on trigger/grip button press

I updated to Unity 2020.3 from 2019.4, and updated to the latest version of XR Interaction Toolkit plus switched over to OpenXR. Now whenever I press the trigger and grip buttons on my controllers, without even interacting with any objects, I get slight haptic events. Haven’t been able to figure out how to fix it. The haptic events on the XR interactors aren’t enabled, so I have no idea what’s going on. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Anyone? Still haven’t figured out what is causing this yet.

Just checking to make sure this was answered in this other thread?

It was replied to in the other thread, yes. Unfortunately, no solutions were presented. Just a ‘working by design’, which is a bad design honestly. This is an engine/game level detail, not a framework, especially when OpenXR is meant to be a standard for all devices, and now SteamVR is doing things differently from the others

Sounds like they are working on an extension to turn it off, that would be the only solution for now.

Unfortunately, that’s not really a solution, because it requires waiting who knows how long for it. That means the only real ‘solution’ right now would be to discard using OpenXR.

I understand, I will start an internal discussion with Valve to see if there is some sort of compromise to get this resolved until a full solution is available.

Thank you!
