It looks far too dark in-game. I have high ambient light as well. Unsure why this is happening.
The SECOND issue is whenever i lightmap something (In this situation, the fence as well as the bricks on the floor shown in the picture), as soon as I hit play, the objects are black for 1 second then flash to the right color. So anything lightmapped, when the game is started it appears black for a second or so then turns the lighting on. It looks pretty terrible.
Here’s a gif of it:
The THIRD issue is with the GI.
Here’s a little gif clip of it:
As you can see, the light shines in, and if it hits the plane, the entire plane receives indirect light. But if it does not hit a different plane, it’s completely black. I have high ambient light, and this is the realtime GI.
Edit: I tried the issue above with directional rather than direction specular, and it fixed the blackness, BUT it still is having the same behavior of when the light hits a plane, the entire plane is illuminated and not the others. It just doesn’t seem very accurate, it’s simply the gif above, just with the complete darkness turned up a bit.
I have exactly same things. When I start the game, objects become black, then turns back orginal color. Gambinolnd, can you please report a bug for all these?
The other issue is not expected, though. Is this also happening in builds, or only the editor? If you could submit a small repro scene and bug report we can look into what’s causing the issue.
Looks like the black flashing is not appearing in builds! So that’s good. When it comes to the third issue I tried it again and it seems to be working pretty well now. Still, the entire wall will light up when hit by light, but only just a bit. This can be produced by having 6 cubes (10 x 0.5 x 10) forming a box, with the top piece slightly moved outward so theres a bit of light let in. Then I just rotate the directional light around and you’ll see when the light touches an object the entire object lights up slightly.
But for the most part I can’t seem to reproduce the issues, minus the 2nd one. The second 1 works great in web player but in editor it still happens for most people.
BTW: In love with the new mesh renderer, cast shadows update!!!
