Weird problem about Maya, FBX and Unity

I have a low level female model and its normal map, the format is obj. what I need to do is rigging it in Maya and export as fbx in order to use it in Unity. But when I export it into Unity and give its normal map, it looks like normal map doesnt work, it still has less faces.

The weird thing is the fbx format which I export out from 3d Max by the completely same way with Maya can perfectly running in Unity with smooth surface, obviously, the normal map works.

I used another way that import the obj file directly into Unity, everything works well in Unity too.

I dont know if there is some problem with Maya with FBX with Unity. I prefer to have a right fbx file exported from Maya.

We rely on each application’s own FBX exporter, perhaps there’s some variation between those being used by Max and by Maya? Are both apps up to date with respect to the FBX exporter being used?

Also, are you doing this manually or by simply saving the model into your Unity project folder (thus letting Unity do the export to FBX for you)?
