Weird Tree Effects

Hey everyone,

Not sure if this is a error/problem or just the fact that I’m really pushing my computer but the tree’s in my game do something weird.

While I’m moving and looking up at tree’s, some are bent at an angle. If I move closer to them, they kind of re-adjust and make them selves straight. If I move back, they bend at an angle again. This is happening while I’m in game mode.

Help? It’s just really annoying because it takes away from the realism of the game.

This may be an issue with billboard distance, basically when tree’s are at a certain distance they appear as billboards so they are less expensive on performance, the closer the player moves to the tree within the billboard distance it then pops into a non billboard state.

If you click on Terrain settings, you can increase the billboard start value, of course this will be a little more expensive on performance but it may increase the realism within your game.

Additionally can you attach a screenshot which shows a tree in it’s bent angle position?

I have the same problem, it is of course switch from billboard to mesh. It looks like billboard is rendered smaller, or maybe different effect of bend value for billboard and mesh? Trees with bend value 0 are mostly OK.
