What are you using for your VIDEO SCREEN CAPTURE software?

In the past I researched software for doing VIDEO SCREEN CAPTURE (APPLE).

The best I could find was SCREENFLOW:

However, I have seen video tutorials on the internet that seem to use other software that appears to work quite well.

I can use screen capture because I dual code my software to run on both the WEB and iPhone.

I am about to make a VIDEO SCREEN CAPTURE software purchase.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I use iShowU HD.

I got the $30 version, it works swell.

Yes same here, iShowU just rocks.

When recording I’m using the Apple Intermediate Codec - after that i convert it to H264 in QuickTime.
I have both, the HD and non HD version (for 10.4) but i prefer the non HD version which works fine on 10.5.8.

I use snapz for my mac screen captures. Works real well for what I need.

Doesn’t leopard have built in recording? How good is it?

I haven’t installed SL for fear of the glitches regarding iPhone 1.5.1 (are these true?)

I bought iShowU some time ago.
Easy, simple, works perfect. And quite cheap.

I tried to make screen recording of game running in Unity window, but got lots of “tearing” - one 1 video frame contains parts of 2 game frames.

Could not solve the problem, so used my HD camera (with some tricks).
I’ve made a post about it in my blog http://hrissan.livejournal.com/1148.html

Maybe you should try to set the recording frame rate higher. I always use 30 fps in iShowU and it looks really good.
But anyway i guess the problem is that you never can synch the frames of the source with the recording software and some content works better than the other. I sometimes quickly recorded parts of DVDs with iShowU and had drop frames and slightly stuttering when the camera moved.

Using a camera to record it will also record the latency of the displays pixels and the latency of the cameras chip but as it will never record at a higher frequency than 25 or 29.97 fps the chance of getting 2 frames in one is exactly the same it will be just smoothed by the latencies.

But your result looks pretty good

iShowU HD is was not working for me (it captures blurry/off center pixels), but the regular version of iShowU works better. In either version, it’s very difficult to position the Unity window capture area.

I use Macvide ScreenCap. It’s prog allows you to capture and record anything you can see on your screen to image, video or flash.Try
