I am thinking about how the server and the player interact and I am wondering if it is appropriate to save player data such as their currency, achievements, items, etc … on the player side?
I’m assuming you understand the obvious implication of going that route: the players will have very easy access to hacking the game.
So what it really comes down to is, are you comfortable with your online community being populated with hackers? And how much will that ruin the experience for members of the community who don’t want to hack?
