hello everyone.
is there a service for multiplayer games where i can let my players run the service. take for example minecraft. you can download the minecraft server file and run a server on you own computer. i want to do this so that when i should abandon the game the players can stil create their own servers. i looked for things to use and i found photon. but from what i learned from photon i think you always need to connect to their servers. i want somthing that can run on it own withoud it being dependent to another service. (ps sorry for the bad english. it is not my native language.)
Anyone can host a server if they set their port forwarding rules and have other player’s connect using their router’s IP address. There’s no service needed for that. If you want things like a lobby, matchmaking, or hosting servers behind NAT routers without having to port forward, well typically you’d set up your own server for that or pay for a service.
