I receive a message:You have been awarded a trophy:Unity Community Member…
Did you click on the notification?
As far I am concerned, it has no specific meanings. Everyone has 10 trophies.
Maybe different for very old users, or just joined users?
Other than that, I would consider it, as confirmation that you are not a bot ![]()
I don’t seem to have any trophy at all…
When I click on your avatar to see popup profile, I see you got 10 trophy points.
Sorry I am on mobile, unable to take screenshot.
Oh that’s where it is mentioned? I couldn’t find them on my profile. ![]()
Edit: oh I found them mentioned under my avatar on my profile page…
Most forums have an achievement system in place. It will give users badges or trophies, which are worth some points, for doing task . For instance: Post 100 times and you get a trophy plus some points. Or 100 likes… For starting XY threads… You get the idea.
The more points you’ve accumulated, the cooler you are
In other forums, this may also be an indication of how trustworthy someone is…
Obviously, this whole thing has no real benefit here since “Unity Community Member” is the only trophy we can unlock.
Yep and encourages spam ![]()
I think likes are best of current options, to evaluate user general content value.
Thanks guys! ![]()
Can there also be a trophy point 100 etc?
I think mods or admins can modify these trophies and even add new ones. The Unity forum is based on the xenforo software and xenforo’s trophy list looks like this for example:
“Unity Community Member” is the only trophy we can get and that gives solid 10 points once. Just don’t worry too much about this
It’s pretty meaningless.
I agree but I would like some more options, in one of the other forums that i’m on you get “agree” “disagree” “love” and a few others, lets you express how you feel about the post better without bloating the thread.
@SparrowsNest yep, agree and disagree would be nice, as long are none anonymous. Just like current mechanics. Otherwise, we would have to deal with haters ![]()
I also agree
Why adding buttons when you can actually write how you feel about the post?
Anyway, participating to a forum is not about liking or not liking, agreeing or not agreeing, or else, to a post. Either you have a actual answer to the question or not; if you don’t, just don’t post a comment.
Because sometimes is pointless to write exactly the same what poster wrote, or exactly opposite. Also, have you seen discussion reaching 5 pages, just because someone disagreed with OP views? Such features could reduce thread easily to 2 pages.
This is for the lazy, it would be a disgrace to have these on such decent forums as these ones. ![]()
What do you mean?
Stay with us for another year, participate actively in forum, then you will understand my message. In short, people love split hairs on 2 ![]()
