I assume they mention something about it in that video you posted, but I couldn’t find it.
Video completely lacks the moaning and groaning that naturally comes with a new UI. You can find that at the link below.
Aside from all the complaints, it doesn’t seem to be very different at all. Instead of “redesign”, I’d characterize it more as “a few slight adjustments here and there”
It looks fine. It’s a slight modernization and probably comes with the added bonus of being able to make it easier to expand by developers.
I’m a sucker for flat design.
I’m still using unity 5 2017 so I’m in the dark.
I hope they stop popping up dialogs that give the editor focus when you’re in another window.
Annoying AF
Time to upgrade bro, big time.
There could be many reasons developers don’t upgrade their software. In an established game design production, Unity is often one part in a larger pipeline. Sometimes compatibility or bugs preclude timely updates.
inb4 somebody jumps in saying how you should always update all the time forever
you should always update all the time forever
oh wait…
Doesn’t looked redesigned, just smoothing out a few rough spots. Looks fine to me.
Just want to drop in that at some point (maybe even this video) someone said that they want to break the engine into parts so everyone can module it up as they want. Maybe the new UI ia aimed for this.
I feel like I’m far too much of a newbie to be qualified give out opinions on this, but so far I think the changes are positive, the majority of them at least.
