What does "URP not supported" actually mean? Newbie here...

I’m very much interested in this pack (Village Environment Pack | 3D Historic | Unity Asset Store) but I’m seeing that it says URP is not supported.

What does that actually mean though? Does that mean if I have a URP project, then there’s no way to make the materials not pink, or something like that? Or is “URP Not Supported” a fixable thing with some effort? Trying to understand if it’s just something I can’t use with URP projects.

newbie here, don’t understand pipelines…

It means they don’t provide materials for URP and they haven’t tuned the look for URP.

You could potentially convert the materials yourself, but if it then looks pretty bad you don’t get to complain to the asset developer.

Most assets can just be done using the automated material converter. For that particular asset description, it suggests they are using custom shaders for the houses. That will require some elbow grease to convert, but probably can be done on shader graph without too much trouble.

Ultimately, textures are just pictures and meshes are just a bunch of vertices and indices. So with a bit of effort, you can get anything to work in URP.
