you are generally just better off hosting elsewhere and linking.
link images from dropbox, or upload videos to youtube and link here.

Zip files are accepted. I dont know how appropriate it is but they are allowed.
People usually avoid downloading unknown things (even if it’s seemingly just a video)…
You can set a YouTube video to “Unlist”, so that only visitors knowing the link can watch it.

yes thats what i did eventually.
still it wouldn’t harm if the forums were clear about what can be attached as a file and what not.
When i click attatch file and the file browser opens it shows a dropbox at the bottom right that says anytype for which file type i am browsing. The list of file types in that dropdown are the ones that the forum will accept.

mac only displays a cancel and choose button from what i can see.
