I don’t mind Unity marking their free brand of software with a splash, but what happened to the nice one? We get a generic white box with black text, which is not an upgrade from the snazy one we have in 5.3.
There is a new splash screen in 5.5. It is massively better than any previous Unity splash screen. The Unity logo is only up for 2 seconds and shares the screen with your own logo and background, and your logo can zoom in a bit for some movement.
Did they get rid of that blasted “Personal Edition” they promised to remove in June?

"Apart from price changes, we’re also working on some changes to the Unity splash screen.
The new splash screen will read “Made with Unity” in all editions of Unity – no more mention of “Personal Edition”. You will also be able to customize it with your own (blurred) background image and your own company logo in addition to the Unity logo. This feature is coming, but give us a bit of time to perfect the technical aspects of it before we release it. The customizable splash screen will be available in all versions of Unity, but can be completely turned off in Unity Plus and Unity Pro. We’ll have a blog post with further details later."
I mean, I was happy with the older one over this current one:

Ok, I see, they basically gave us the splash from Unity Pro. Why did that take so long? I am not complaining, just trying to wrap my head around the Unity development cycle. Thanks for the 5.5 update by the way.
The 5.5 splash is much improved from the pro version, have you had a play with it? It’s default settings look like the pro one but it can now be customised to something completely different.
