In the Beta Analytics FAQ, it mentions that Beta Analytics will eventually replace the Legacy Analytics: Can I continue to use legacy Analytics? While Analytics (Beta) is a replacement product for legacy Analytics, the legacy solution will continue to operate as normal during the beta period.
However, I’ve noticed that there a number of tools that are only available in Legacy Analytics and not in the new Beta Analytics (things such as A/B testing and heatmaps, for example).
Are these features that seem to be Legacy-exclsuive at the moment planned to be ported over to the new Beta Analytics eventually before it gets fully released? Or are those features going to get dropped completely when Legacy Analytics becomes deprecated and the new Analytics are moved out of Beta? Or is there some third option?
I have not been able to find clear answers anywhere about the future of these tools. Thank you very much!
At the moment you can continue using legacy analytics however I would suggest keeping your eye out and trying out the UGS Analytics Beta when best suits you. I invite you to read the following documentation.
The equivalent exists for the following services:
Segments equivalent is Audiences.
A/B Testing equivalent will be found in Game Overrides Remote Settings Deprecation is replaced by Remote Config
You can already export some data using the SQL Data Explorer.
Let me verify with the team regarding Market Insights and Raw Data export.
This is good information to hear! It would be great if these equivelent mappings were included in the FAQs (or somewhere in the documentation for the Beta Analytics) so others can clearly access that information as they transition over.
Also, I am not seeing the Game Overrides section that you mentioned… where might I find this in the Beta Analytics? Has it been implemented yet? If not, when is the expected release date?
Thank you very much, I appreaciate your responsiveness!
