What has happend to the packages I bought?

I bought assets from the store and they have disappearing via deprecated.

Is Unity changing their code so fast that developers can’t keep up with it?
Are developers abandoning their builds as they are having problems converting code and/or understanding the limited documentation on the internet?

They would still be in your store of they did…I can download the ones that the developer disappeared or left… So check again…

Why are so many getting changed to deprecated? Are developers having problems converting their code?

I have no one of knowing what ones your talking about… I own over 100 assets, and only 4 or 5 are… and out of the are sold or a second version was made so no idea which ones your talking about…I would find it hard to believe a ton of ones you bought this happen to all at once…

Unless your talking about OLDER builds and not the actually asset all together… The asset all together NOT many stop… So I find that a bit odd…Now older builds, that is very common for developers to NOT want to support older builds…Its to much code and other factors to keep up with… plus no idea why people today would want to use really old builds…

Some developers may show they do not support say 5.2 or 5.3, but if you ask nicely and if there is nothing in there asset preventing it they will send people that version personally but not show that they are supporting it, so it really matters on what aspect YOUR talking about.

No. Unity doesn’t change that fast and there are no particular issues with converting code. (Especially since Unity has a code updater that will update many things automatically.) There isn’t any widespread deprecation of assets on the store. Either you got super unlucky, or you’re somehow misinterpreting something.

My friend just said this to me just now, he is showing a bunch now too…Odd…going to link this post to him.

Mentioning what assets are depreciated would help. I would imagine there is a sizable chunk of depreciated assets though given a lot of asset store is populated by hobbyists or amateurs.
