What Has Happened to the Previous Product Area for Vision OS?

The entire previous product area for Vision OS appears to be gone.

There appears to have been 0 explanation of this.

What is happening and why is there 0 communication on these changes? Numerous of our links and bookmarks are broken because of this and the usual organization that we have come to expect is no longer present.

Further more, we have to pick no less than 7 separate options from a massive list of options to post anything. When might this be fixed? It is quite frustrating.

Sorry; this came as a surprise to us, too. I think most of us on the team have switched to searching for all messages with the visionOS tag.

it’s a bit of a bummer… the previous organization of discussions was nice with the separation of MR and full immersion sections. curious if this is the final iteration of the forum or an intermediate step

Agreed. Especially since there are noticeable differences in how things work in VR vs MR use cases. We’ve enountered several things that work very differently in our MR usecase and now, moving forward, it seems like we need to differentiate in our post title which style of app we are referring to in order to avoid confusion.

However, given the way the forums were structured before, I’m not sure that the community is going to clearly do that moving forward.

I think @genevieve_dufour is able to edit the forum. I mentioned a few months ago that there was no Muse Animate discussion, and she was able to create a tag for it

I’ll ask if she can figure out how to restore the visionOS section and put the link back in the left column of the discussions

visionOS really needs a link under “Product Areas” on the left of Discussions (alphabetically between Unity Editor and World Building). visionOS isn’t in the Unity User Manual like the other major platforms are, and it doesn’t have external forums like PS/Xbox, so it needs a clearly defined area where the Unity visionOS team can post information. It shouldn’t be glommed together with a bunch of random stuff under XR
