The forum has a nice search box that searches everything, what if it had a this forum/thread option, so you could quickly and easily see if the specific forum branch you are in has that information?
I know at the moment you can go advanced and limit the search to a specific forum but that takes time and a quicker option could be added to the search bar itself. Maybe a drop down options menu appears when you start using the search box with [this thread][this forum][all] toggles.
