I’m betting that the problem Unity has with it’s GC could be made into a game, the game can be released to the Unity community and they then get to play the game and build/configure a GC that solves the Unique problems of a great GC that works well with games.
So the game would need a way to simulate and visualise the memory and processing of a Unity game, with profiles or levels for different styles of game (from the GC/CPU perspective).
UT could even use profiling data from real games or developers could add their own games profiling data to the game as a level.
The UGC game’s aim is to make and run the fastest and nicest GC across a range of game profiles/levels.
Would or could this be made fun, and could the Unity and the Unity community gamify and solve a big problem in Unity?
