What is causing this problem with Mecanim? Please help!

I’m trying to animate a third-party 3d model with Mecanim.

However, all the model will do is shift its position but remain in its initial A-pose.

I’ve tried other models with the same setup, and they work fine.

So what is causing this problem?

Please help me. Or at least point me in the right direction.

I think your bone setup is not correct and its not match with unity Humanoid .i am sending you unity manual link follow these instruction and make your character rig perfect …

Upon further research and discussion on the forums, it’s been determined that the issue with this 3d model not animating is due to a problem with its skinning that originated when the artist’s original working file (.max) was converted to .fbx format.
