As the question says. I am using Unity 5.4.0b15 and have “Unaccounted” spiking in the Profiler every now and then. What is causing it? Is it as unimportant as “Overhead” in Editor?
If there is an Oculus or vr headset attached to your desktop,make sure it is turned on while using Unity. “Unaccounted” did go away in profiler after that for me.

I was having terrible issues, but not wanting to have a headset plugged in all the time. I just turned off VR settings and it works fine. Just need to remember to turn them back on for my build!
In my case I was using standard shaders for android build. Switching to mobile shaders resolved the issue. Also do not forget to update unity
Unaccounted is “Unknown” (Previously, Unaccounted was called Overhead)
