What is that folder "Caches" placed in the AppData\Local folder?

Hi guys, today I run out of dick space on my windows drive and after a little search to deleting folders I find out in the AppData\Local folder there is a folder named Unity with 2GB Caches files.

So I just want to know can I remove this folder and what is it for?

What will happen if I just delete that?

No one can help me with that?

If you are using Unity5 you probably found the Enlighten cache folder.
In a future version this folder will probably be transfered into the project folder.
