What is the best book for learning C++?

I want to understand what stuff like Vector3 and bools are and why people do what they do in coding tutorials. I really don’t want to have to rely on a video to tell me why I’m doing something.

Recommend any books?

And no, I haven’t been to any type of class on this, I’m 16

1.) You can learn C++ if you want, but it won’t help you with Unity. Unity code is written in C# (or UnityScript, or Boo) - it’s a different language.

2.) The best all round reference book for C# is probably Pro C# 5.0 and the .NET 4.5 Framework | SpringerLink, and it will give you a good grounding in programming including concepts such as conditionals, loops, assignments etc. However, again, it won’t teach you Unity-specific stuff about Vector3’s or the Update() loop etc.

If you want to learn C++ here the best answer for your question.
