What is the best practice to import Cinema4D animations?

Hello, I have a non-biped character rigged in Cinema4D with some animations of the joints. I was wondering what is the most efficient or ideal method in creating/importing animation clips for Unity.

Currently, I just drag and drop the .c4d file into unity. Re-link my textures properly, then go to the objects Import settings > Animation tab and create animation clips from the timeline.

Is there a cleaner way to do this? I would prefer a method of just working on each animation independently, without having to re-import the entire asset and texture repetitively.
