It’s a very useful tutorial which will get you to grips with a lot of the basic features in Blender needed for character modeling and animation. If you are willing to spend a little money there are two great books out there, one is “The Essential Blender” which is fairly basic but will teach you everything from modeling, texturing, rigging, skinning and the use of particles for hair clothes and so on. Then there is the “Introducing Character Animation With Blender” which is a more in depth learning tool for skinning and rigging characters for animation, and of course how to make use of Blenders animation tools.
Great to see a young kid getting this much into 3d, I wish I started when i was your age. hehe
Personally, I learn best from video tutorials. Tufts University provides all of the ones from their Blender class right here! Great resource for new Blender users!
Given they chose to use open source software etc., why on freaking Earth did they choose RealMedia?! It’s the most retarded, proprietary digital media you could think of, a company that makes Microsoft look non-Evil by comparison.
