What is the best way to get a 3d mesh of a sprite?

I need the 3d mesh of a sprite to make a mesh collider with. Polygon collider won’t cut it since it doesn’t get detected by normal raycasts. The reason I can’t use 2dRaycast is that it’s an app for the hololens and i’ve not seen any solutions for a 2dRaycasts in a 3d world that don’t use your cursor.

There is an extrude from sprite that generates polygons in the asset store. Don’t know how well it works on deforming sprites - but it’s in there to check out.
